Blooming through time: The History of Our Nursery
Our nursery was founded in 1991 by Lazaros, Nikolaos and Alexandros Eleftheriadis at the foothills of Mount Paikos in Northern Greece, in the village of Filyria Goumenissa in the prefecture of Kilkis, 60 km NW of Thessaloniki.
The company name "FILYRA", like the name of our village, comes from the "noble" broad-leaved tree: Filyra or Linden or Tilio (Tilia sp), which is a native and characteristic species of our region.
The orientation of the company is the production of mainly native forest, ornamental and fruit species as well as species adapted to the Greek environment.
As the climate of the area is one of the most difficult, the plants produced are hardy and easily adaptable to similar or milder climates.
The production manager is Lazaros Eleftheriadis with extensive experience in agricultural crops. Technical Advisor is John Eleftheriadis, Agronomist. In several cases, foresters, landscape architects, agronomists, etc. collaborate with our Nursery.

Ο σχεδιασμός των εξωτερικών χώρων, είναι στο εξωτερικό υπόθεση πανεπιστημιακής εκπαίδευσης. Η εμπνευσμένη και λειτουργική δημιουργία χώρων πρασίνου συνδυάζει γνώσεις από πολλές επιστήμες, με κορυφαίες την Βοτανική και την Αρχιτεκτονική. Το προσωπικό του φυτωρίου εξειδικεύεται (μέσω πολυετούς πείρας στην πράξη αλλά και διδασκαλίας σε συναφή τριτοβάθμια ιδρύματα) σε σχεδιασμό κήπων, πάρκων, περιαστικού πρασίνου, χώρων αναψυχής, βοτανικών κήπων, πράσινων δωμάτων (roof garden) κ.ά.
